Ex-Duracell Boss to Head the New Chrysler
I’m no expert on these matters mind you, but in my simple goat thinkin’ I’m just wondering out loud here – shouldn’t we have a car guy at the head of the table? I mean the Home Depot guy didn’t work out, so who do we call? The Copper Top dude! I don’t get it.
Chrysler LLC named C. Robert Kidder, 62, the former chairman and chief executive officer of Borden Chemical Inc. and Duracell International Inc., chairman of the company that will likely be re-named when it emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and aligned with Italian automaker Fiat.
Wouldn’t you just loved to have been a fly on the board room wall when the calls were going out for a new CEO?
“Hi this is Jim from HR at Chrysler…yes, we’re looking for a new chairman…hello? hello?” Finally, after who knows how many calls they struck paydirt: “Hello Mr. Kidder?” BINGO.
